ABOUT JANOS
Janos Wilder is a true Tucson culinary treasure. A pioneer of the local foods movement, Chef Janos has passionately explored and utilized local and regional ingredients since his earliest days at his acclaimed namesake restaurant, Janos, which opened in 1983.

Combining French techniques with southwestern ingredients was a success for Janos, who moved operations to Tucson's foothills before opening J-Bar, which presented a more casual approach to dining then the fancier, multi-course Janos restaurant.
As consumer habits began to shift away from fancy, full-service, multi-course dinners, Janos moved operations to downtown Tucson to focus on a new venture, DOWNTOWN Kitchen + Cocktails.

Between the opening of the original Janos in 1983 and present day, Chef Janos has consulted on countless projects, ventures, and menus.
